Professor Claire Stewart

Claire Stewart is Professor of Stem Cell Biology at LJMU and past Chair of the British Society of Research on Ageing. With almost 30 years post-PhD experience, Claire’s research takes a systems-based approach to determining the mechanistic regulators of muscle mass and function, with age and muscle wasting diseases. Models range from adult human stem cells to in vivo investigations and are underpinned by molecular, biochemical, endocrine and physiological approaches.
