Partial Index Exhibition

The project is run across five departments at Newcastle University: Architecture, Art, Computer Science, Geography and Music. The group has been operating as a curatorial platform to research the boundaries of collective and interdisciplinary curating within an academic setting, shifting between an internal composition of bodies and a public project.

The display at BALTIC 39 in August 2014, explored the relationship between the indexing of personal memories and professional archives. It presents an incomplete aggregation, where collective indexing was performed alongside the curatorial impulse as the group sought to leak into the public domain.

The project’s next iteration will be a publication on the question of hesitation within the process of collective work, reflecting on the group’s mode of practice. Project is supported by the QuILT PGR Innovation Fund and BALTIC’s FIGURE TWO exhibition programme presented at BALTIC 39. Peter Merrington and Tijana Stevanović led the group with contributions from Ko-Le Chen, Elodie Roy and Sophie Yarker.
