Welcome to the webpage of the Newcastle University Applied Micro (NUAM) research group. The group is based in the Department of Economics at Newcastle University Business School and brings together researchers from across the University.

Our empirical research is informed by economic theory and spans all areas of applied microeconomics. We draw on interdisciplinary connections with politics, geography, health, and psychology to better understand economic phenomena.

The core activity of NUAM is our weekly seminar series.

Our research interests include labor, public, development, health, migration, economic history, political economy, and crime.
