How do disenfranchised communities navigate the climate crisis? How do they sustain sovereignty amid pervasive disempowerment?
In this talk, Angelos Theocharis explores Indigenous stories of living with uncertainty, adapting to unprecedented environmental change, and resisting the enduring structures of environmental colonialism. Drawing on the film archive of the Leverhulme-funded Indigenous Visualities of Climate Crisis project, he demonstrates how the Indigenous ethos of collective continuance enables communities not only to survive but to flourish despite intensifying threats.
