Tyneside to talk about the film The Anthropologist on Sunday 19th March 20017 - 6.20pm – 8.30pm
In a world where climate change only seems to affect people far away, American teenager Katie Crate embarks on a journey, with her anthropologist mother Susie, to answer the fundamental question ‘If we can’t stop the change that’s coming, will we be able to change ourselves’.Mixing the topic of climate change with a mother-daughter story to produce a distinct study of change and human adaptability, the film follows the five year journey of Katie and Susie as they study the impact of climate change on indigenous communities, paralleled with that of pioneering anthropologist Margaret Mead and her daughter Mary Catherine Bateson.
