Succesful Patient & Public Involvement Session Held At Newcastle Hospitals

As part of his commitment to patient-centred research, Mr Amar Rajgor convened a Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) workshop to support his NIHR Doctoral Fellowship project on the application of AI and radiomics in laryngeal cancer. The event brought together individuals with lived experience of cancer care, who offered unique insights that are helping shape the project’s direction and relevance.
Mr Rajgor was also joined by Mr James O'Hara. The discussion provided new perspectives on patient priorities, clarity in communication, and ethical considerations in AI-driven diagnostics. Attendees also gave practical feedback on study materials and helped refine future engagement strategies.
Mr Rajgor thanked all participants for their time and openness, highlighting how their contributions are vital in ensuring the research is not only scientifically robust, but meaningful to those it ultimately aims to benefit.
