Researchers at Newcastle University have developed an AI-based approach to improve treatment decisions for laryngeal (voice box) cancer patients. By analyzing CT scans using radiomics, the AI identifies hidden patterns that predict survival rates more accurately than traditional methods.

This innovation, described as a “virtual biopsy,” could lead to personalized treatment plans, ultimately improving outcomes for patients. The research is a collaboration between Newcastle University and Newcastle Upon Tyne Hospitals, with further studies planned to enhance precision in cancer management.
