Gilly Love (Exploring Music & Singing for Performance) has been a teacher for over 10 years. Gilly worked in the Youth sector, Adult Education and Community Arts before becoming Principal Arts Officer for Bedfordshire. Moving to the North East of England in 1999 she quickly became involved in developments for the new music centre and has been involved in the work of the Sage Gateshead since its beginning.
Gilly has always striven to include a holistic element to all music and community work and is passionate about the rights of all people to have access to culture. In the last 8 years this has been most evident in creating and developing the highly successful Silver Programme at the Sage Gateshead. With a first degree in Performance Arts, Gilly gained an M.A. in Counselling Skills at Durham University in 2001, an invaluable support in assisting with working with older people and also an experience which has left her with an insatiable interest in research.
