To experience the use of a commercially
available package in solving finite element problems.
To develop skills in the application of a finite element
software;
To understand the relationship between computer hardware
and software in relation to finite elements;
To be able to interpret finite element results in terms of
real structural behaviour;
To acquire experience in mathematical modelling of 2-D and
3-D structures.
