The project began

We identified
suitable questionnaires to assess each child's quality of life and participation. |

Toulouse, France identified the most suitable instrument to
assess the quality of life of children with learning difficulties.

Belfast, Northern Ireland, developed materials to give
information to, and seek consent from, parents and children.

Cork, Republic of Ireland, Grenoble, France, Göteborg, Sweden, Copenhagen, Denmark and Viterbo,
Italy, held focus groups
to explore relevant environmental factors with parents.

Home visits
were made to 818 children. |

Thirteen research papers are now published or in print (see Publications tabs). We
continue with further statistical analysis. |

We have a detailed plan of how results will be
disseminated to parents, national governments, European Union Parliament
and the European Commission. |

In January 2009 we obtained further
funding for SPARCLE 2. The young people will be visited again when
13-17 years old. |

IWe have had two SPARCLE 2 Workshops
and young people are now being visited. |
