Jim Ferguson:
A memorial tribute

The Council of the British Society of Rheology has asked Nick Hudson to organise a lecture to honour the memory of Jim Ferguson, who was a past President and the European representative of the society. It has been further suggested that additional lectures be given in his honour.

This has been organised for

Thursday, 17th June 1999.
The lectures will take place in Room C133 of the Thomas Graham Building of the University of Strathclyde.

The principal lecturer will be Professor Claude Wolff, Chair of Macromolecular Materials at CNAM in Paris.

Other eminent rheologists who have offered to speak are Professor Ken Walters, FRS, of the University of Wales, Aberystwyth, and Professor Howard Barnes, OBE, of Unilever plc.

The lectures will be followed by a short reception.

Mrs Jean Ferguson and family, the speakers, and some representatives of the University will then be the guests of the British Society of Rheology at dinner.
