Publications

For information about purchasing Society publications or advertising in them, please contact the Publications Manager, Dr Nick Hudson. See the August 2001 list of available items, costs and subscription rates. This is also available as a Word document
The Society publishes (three times a year) a Bulletin which contains reports on conferences and other Society activities, review articles on rheological topics, information on future meetings, courses, and general notes and news. The Honorary Editor of the Bulletin is a member of the Council of the Society.

It also publishes the journal Rheology Abstracts which contains abstracts of most of the published papers and other literature likely to be of interest to practising rheologists in all fields. In a typical year a thousand abstracts culled from around a hundred journals are published. The Honorary Editor of Rheology Abstracts is a member of the Council of the Society.

Members of the Society receive the Bulletin free of charge. From 2000 to 2002 members could purchase Rheology Abstracts at a reduced cost. Before 2000 it was available free to members in printed form. After 2002 it will be available to members; the plan is to supply this in electronic form.

The Society is one of the participating bodies of the journal Rheologica Acta and proceedings of several international and national conferences have been published in the journal. It is also a founder member of the European Society of Rheology.

The Society administers the Scott Blair Collection of books and papers on rheology, which is housed at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth, and is developing this into an up-to-date library of rheological literature available to all members.
