Promotion of rheology

The Society awards a Gold Medal every few years in recognition of outstanding contributions to rheology and has also established an Annual Award. This has been made to younger scientists in recognition of their work as well as to rheologists who have made a significant contribution to the life of the Society.

To encourage younger rheologists, the Society funds the Scott Blair Memorial Scholarship and administers the Scott Blair Biorheology Scholarship which is funded by Elsevier Science.

It makes awards from time to time for the best paper(s) presented at a Young Rheologists' Day.

It also makes travel grants in support of the expenses incurred by students in their attendance at conferences and courses. Application for grants should be made to the Secretary.
