North Cumbria Community Genetics Projects (NCCGP)

The North Cumbria Community Genetics Project grew out of the Cumbrian based birth-cohort study.  In this study DNA samples have been collected from over 7,000 babies and their mothers providing a resource for genetic epidemiology.  As part of the development of this project a rigorous process of local consultation was employed and an ethics advisory group guides the ethical development of the project.  A programme of genetic epidemiology studies is currently being developed.
