PolyHIPE Polymers are functional nano-structured macro-porous materials with
high specific surface area and pore accessibility

PolyHIPE Polymers (PHP) are prepared through a high internal phase emulsion polymerization route. The continuous phase of HIPE, which eventually undergoes polymerization and crosslinking, is placed at the bottom of the mixing vessel; dispersed phase (water containing 1% potassium persulphate as initiator) is dosed into the continuous phase while mixing.
The control of pore and interconnect sizes in the micro-porous polymer is achieved mainly through the control of temperature of emulsification, mixing speed and time.
