Assessment Information

Times are changing faster than this website, but here is the latest.

Trainees who are in the SpR grades (Specialist Registrars), will continue to be assessed by the RITA (Record of In Training Assessment) process

Trainees in ST  (Speciality Trainees), FTSTA, LAT, and ACCS grades will be assessed by the new ARCP (Annual Review of Competency Progression) system. The Deanery has provided the following documents for your help:

Trainees  will need to complete a number of assessment documents as stipulated by MMC/PMETB, used initially for foundation doctors. It is the trainees responsibility to download these documents and present them to a clinical supervisor for completion. Educational supervisors will give guidance as to the number and subject areas required. Trainees must meet with their Educational supervisor at the beginning, middle and end of each attachment. Prior to the third meeting, they must complete the following document in preparation for ARCP, and send it electronically to their Educational Supervisor. This is compulsory. When completed, it is sent to Joanne O,Brien at the Deanery

Assessment documents

There is a College  Guidance document about when and who to use them on, as well as an indication of the sort of cases or procedures to test.

The assessment documents are obtainable as pdf files from the College Website

ST1 and ST2 doctors need to complete 12 DOPS and 8 MiniCEX a year

For  further guidance about these new assessments, look on the MMC website, where on line teaching is available on the use of these "tools".
