Appraisal Information

The Northern School of Anaesthesia has a well developed system of appraisal. All trainees will need  at least yearly appraisal to feed into the ARCP process, and to aid them in their training in Anaesthesia. This appraisal may take place locally, between a nominated appraiser ( often an Educational Supervisor or College Tutor) and the trainee, or at regional appraisals organised by Barbara Sladdin

It is possible to download many of the forms used in the process here,  as *.doc files (open the relevant document then File "save as" to your own hard disk ) :

• Guidance notes for trainees about appraisal
• Instructions for the appraisal interview
• Form 1, Personal details (for completion prior to each appraisal)
• Form 2, self assessment of confidence
• Form 3, preparation for appraisal
• Form 4, preparation prior to final appraisal 
• Summary document, to be completed at the end of appraisal

• Trainee assessment ( for College Tutor to complete )
• Trainee assessment by consultants
• Summation of trainee assessments by consultants ( for College Tutor to complete )
