Yuasa Katsutoshi

Yuasa Katsutoshi was born in Tokyo in 1978, graduated from Musashino Art University, Tokyo in 2002 and was awarded his MA Fine Art in Printmaking from the Royal College of Art, London in 2005. Since then Yuasa has participated in renowned artist residency programmes such as those at the Rijksakademie van beeldende kunsten in Amsterdam, Cité international des arts, Paris and the Kala Art Institute, Berkeley, California. His work has been exhibited in galleries and museums worldwide and recent solo exhibitions include at the Lawrence Art Center, Kansas, USA, Galerie der Stadt Backnag, Germany and Gallery YUKI-SIS, Tokyo. Recent group shows include C-mine cultuurcentrum, Genk, Belgium and Yokohama Museum of Art (Japan) amongst others and his work is included in the New York Public Library and the Victoria and Albert Museum, London. In 2011, he was awarded the Towry Print Prize at the Royal Academy Summer Show and his award winning entry to the International print Biennale was purchased by the Laing Art Gallery, Newcastle.
