Research

We specialise in experimental hydrodynamics of ship propellers, thrusters, turbines, foils, surfaces, coatings and other innovative devices operating in water. We investigate phenomena that impact in-service propulsive performance of marine vehicles.

Specific interests include:

  • biofouling,
  • surface roughness,
  • material degradation,
  • ageing,
  • underwater radiated noise,
  • vibration,
  • weather effects,
  • human factors.
