The Decision Support Matrix is a tool to support policy and decision making.
Recognising the need to communicate clear messages to end users and allow stakeholders
(farmers, industry, local and national government) to take ownership of problems the DSM allows
the land use planner or farmer to investigate different land management practices. Developed
through a combination of research and through direct engagement with policy makers
and stakeholders at all scales the DSM should reflect current state of knowledge and
up-to-date concerns.

TopManage is a digital terrain analysis (DTA) tool which is designed to demonstrate
to farmers and land managers the effect of different land uses on hydrology.
Used in conjunction with a Geographical Information System (GIS) such as ArcView,
TopManage enables the user to assess what the effect would be of adding to, or removing
from, the land topographic features. Starting from a digital terrain map of a particular
field or area of farmed land, usually derived from Geographical Positioning System (GPS)
measurement, maps can be input to the GIS, topographic features added, and augmented
terrain maps analysed using TopManage.
