| The artefacts found in the Mesolithic hut consisted principally of flint tools. Most of this represented waste from the production of formal tools like arrow points, hide scrapers, leather piercing tools and knives. The analyses of the flint shows that tool production and repair took place at Howick inside the hut. The raw material used to produce the tools was collected from the beach below. |

A few sherds of Bronze Age pottery were discovered in
burial cists 2 and 5. Below is an image of a Bronze Age pot from another
nearby burial site. The decorated sherd above came from a vessel like this.
