THE STAINED GLASS OF NEWCASTLE CATHEDRAL
External Partners: English Heritage, Newcastle and Newcastle Cathedral
The Cathedral has some excellent examples of nineteenth century stained glass. This dissertation would involve selecting one or more of the windows and tracing their history e.g commissioning, manufacture, instalment, repair etc. More importantly, the work would involve examining the imagery and iconography of the windows themselves. It would provide a good overview of one important aspect of the Cathedral’s historical assets.
