Research

The Geodesy Group’s research covers gravimetric geodesy; satellite positioning and monitoring from GPS (GNSS); oceanographic applications,; the development of low cost GNSS sensor networks; understanding of the earthquake cycle and post-seismic deformation; GNSS tropospheric and ionosphere delay; GNSS time series analysis; understanding of PGR and Earth dynamics; the generation of ice mass balance estimates and understanding of ice dynamics / absolute sea level change; altimetric engineering. Funded by research councils and industry, our research is highly interdisciplinary and as a result we successfully collaborate with a range of academics and industry partners, both within the UK and internationally. More information on our current research areas and projects can be obtained from the tabs on the left hand side, including potential PhD projects and opportunities.
