"Andrew is a video artist who also makes drawings and performances. His works condense and choreograph his life and many varied interests into tense, vibrant fragments. A politics of ecstasy has set the tone of our relationship and his works in all media betray a heightened state of being be it self-flagellation or rhapsody." - Lucy Stein.

I work within an expanded practice that is characterised by existential enquiry and an exploration of the contingencies and coping mechanisms inherent within subjective consciousness and perception. Focusing on the body as the site where information is processed and where data becomes manifest, I endeavour to assimilate the components that comprise self and the components in which self is manifest: body, mind, language, society, technology.

Andrew Kerton, born London 1981, graduated with a BA in Sculpture from Brighton University in 2003 and attended de Ateliers post graduate program in Amsterdam in 2004/5.

His practice is based in video, live performance and collaborative projects and has been shown across Europe. Over 2008-9 he established and co-managed Miss Micks, an independent live performance and artist's event space in Kreuzberg, Berlin. Since 2008 he has worked as a performer, actor and dancer and in 2009 became a founding member of Keren Cytter's touring dance company D.I.E Now (Dance International Europe Now), who appeared at Tate Modern; The Kitchen, NY and Hebbel am Ufer, Berlin. In 2011 he was invited to become the inaugural artist in residence at Auto Italia South East and in 2012 was a resident artist at the Bemis Center for Contemporary Art in Omaha, Nebraska.
