Professor Anne Maguire BDS FDS RCS(Edin) PhD FHEA. Anne is Professor of Preventive Dentistry at Newcastle University where she is academic lead for Paediatric Dentistry with a teaching and research role.  She is a Specialist in Paediatric Dentistry and also leads the School of Dental Science’s fluoride research team. Anne Maguire’s role within FiCTION is as Joint Chief Investigator and Clinical Lead for the north-east England clinical centre. She was actively involved in the 3 centre Pilot Rehearsal Trial and Feasibility Study and maintains this active role in the 5 centre Main Trial. Following her primary role in the development of the practice recruitment protocol, the trial protocol and the clinical treatment approach protocols with the other paediatric dentists in the team, she is involved with the training of general dental practitioners and other practice-based staff in the clinical elements of the study and provides advice to the research team on aspects of the study relating to prevention and fluoride use.
