I completed my undergraduate pre-medical degree in Biology with a minor in chemistry (BSc.) with distinction at the College of the Bahamas in 2012. From here I decided to become more involved in research and completed a Masters of Research in Immunobiology at Newcastle University in 2014. Having enjoyed this experience I applied for and received a Newcastle University Overseas Research Studentship Award and with this I am currently persuing a PhD in the Fibrosis Research Group under the supervision of Prof. Derek Mann and Dr Caroline Wilson.
My Project involves understanding the structural mechanisms of the p50:p50:HDAC1 interaction as well as the control of p50 dimerization with the future goal of subunit specific therapeutics for cancer and Fibrosis as well as other diseases modulated by inflammation.
