The Joint International Conferences on Intelligent Agriculture (ICIA) in Beijing

Held in Beijing on 27-30 September 2015, the Joint International Conferences on Intelligent Agriculture (ICIA) was a joint event of the 8th International Symposium on Intelligent Information Technology in Agriculture (ISIITA), the 9th IFIP International Conference on Computer and Computing Technologies in Agriculture (CCTA), and the 2015 International Conference on Future Agriculture.  
 
ICIA focused on Agriculture 4.0 (the advanced phase of agriculture) characterized by the application of internet of things, big data, cloud computation and intelligent robotics. ICIA covered five major topics on (1) agricultural big data and cloud computing, (2) plant phenotyping sensing and information acquisition, (3) precision agriculture and agricultural aviation, (4) quality control and traceability of agro-products, and (5) ICT applications in agriculture.
 
Newcastle Agri-Tech Project team had a strong presence in the ICIA 2015 with three oral presentations:

  • James Taylor, A comparison of Precision Agriculture Research and Development in The UK and China
