Research Interests

James's research interests include: market based solutions in education; the right to education; the development of private schools for the poor in developing countries; inclusive business models in education; education as a spontaneous order; the history of private education prior to state intervention and the hidden costs and unintended consequences of government intervention in education in the UK and abroad. James is currently developing a 'freedom based approach' to Education for All. James is a Fellow of the Adam Smith Institute, London.
