Pauline was invited to attend the ARK (Absolute Return for Kids) gala dinner June 2011 by Paul Marshall (ARK Trustee) in recognition of the current work Pauline has been involved with in the slums of Delhi.The dinner was addressed by His Royal Highness, the Duke of Cambridge on behalf of the Foundation of Prince William and Prince Harry. The Duke announced a new venture between ARK and the Princes’ Foundation to support young people in the UK and Africa. The dinner raised £17.2 million.

Amongst other things they discussed Das's new book "The Difficulty of Being Good" and the ARK/CCS education voucher and phonics schemes which are being launched this year in Delhi. Pauline is acting as advisor to the ARK programmes.
Pauline Dixon attends ARK Gala Dinner Absolute Return for Kids (ARK) held its major gala fund raising dinner in Waterloo International station, attended by more than 800 guests and addressed by Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Pauline was invited to attend though the work she is doing with the team in Delhi, India concerning phonics and scholarship scheme. ARK raised £14.1 million during the dinner held at Waterloo International Station.

The Beautiful Tree James Tooley's new book "The Beautiful Tree" was launched at CATO, Washington DC in April. The book is a personal account of his journey and research looking at education for the poor around the world. According to Publishers Weekly the book is "Surprising...engaging...a moving account of how poor parents struggle against great odds to provide a rich educational experience to their children." —PUBLISHERS WEEKLY. James also appeared on ABC News and gave several interviews on the East Coast. James was also this year's speaker at the IEA for the Hayek Memorial Lecture on 11th June 2009, where he signed copies of his book.
