The Grainger Market, Newcastle. The market is the city's largest traditional market, and was the largest indoor market in Europe when it was opened in 1835. It was designed by architect John Dobson, and was built as part of the 19th century redevelopment of the city led by builder Richard Grainger (1797-1861).
