Space: Hatton Kitchen, video work/ ongoing during opening hours

A single arm with a hand at either end is stretching from wall to wall. Is the arm pushing the walls apart? Is it holding them up? ...stopping them from falling down? Or are the walls propping up the arm?

An interdependent relationship between the morcelated body and space is created. Neither can exist without the other. The architectural space in the video acts at the same time as a cell and as a dividing wall from the noise of the city outside.I have recently come across the term legendary psychastenia, which describes a condition of schizophrenia, where a person identifies with the space to such an extent that they start to believe they are the space they occupy. This condition is a good metaphor for my interest in the relationship between the individual and the environment and for how sometimes the limits between our environment and us become blurred.
