I am someone with aphasia. Is this for me?

The Aphasia Centre is not of benefit to all people with aphasia. This is why we only accept referrals from speech and language therapists. Your therapist will be able to help you consider this option alongside other options available to you. Your local therapist can be contacted via the speech and language therapy department of your nearest hospital.

If you want to find out more about aphasia visit:

Speakability and the Stroke Association both have free helpline numbers.

What is aphasia?

Aphasia (or dysphasia) is the term used to describe communication difficulties following brain damage (such as a stroke or head injury). People with aphasia have difficulties communicating their message – this may be due to problems with speaking, understanding what is said, reading and/or writing.
