Brian Alderson

Brian Alderson is one of the pioneers of children’s literature studies in Britain and a distinguished author, reviewer, translator and collector.

Brian has supported the study of children’s literature at Newcastle for many years. He has given a series of fascinating talks, Looking at Children’s Books, and contributed to exhibitions at the University Library and Seven Stories: The National Centre for Children’s Books.

In 2016, he was awarded an honorary doctorate from Newcastle University in recognition of his enormous contribution to the field.
