Employed at EMC in Cramlington as Maintenance Technician on fully automated production lines (1995-1998)
Attended Newcastle University gaining MEng in Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering (2002), during which was awarded Nuffield scholarship for 2000 and 2001 summer research placements studying UV degradation of polymer-elastomer compounds, ending in three publications.
Gained MRes in Marine Science & Technology (2003)
Started PhD into autonomous marine robotic systems (2004)
Worked on MEPEMS (2003-2005), HISMAR (2005-2009) and POSE2IDON (2009-2010) European Projects.
Employed at Newcastle University as an RA (2005-present)
Participated in the writing of several successful European grant applications.
